Level 2 Qualification

The only Nationally Recognised Level Two Qualification for the sport of Bowls in England, wholly supported by Bowls England, EIBA Ltd, BCGBA and ESMBA.

The knowledge gained from this qualification will ensure coaches have developed an understanding of safe, ethical, and effective bowls coaching. It also enables coaches (who are aged over 18) to deliver pre-prepared sessions provided by Coach Bowls.

The qualification is delivered in partnership with 1st 4 Sport Qualifications (Awarding Body) and gives an externally accredited Nationally recognised qualification (regulated by OfQual).

Level Two Course Overview:

This course is comprised of:

  • 3 x 3hr Zoom sessions
  • A portfolio
  • Two Practical Days
  • 4 (minimum) linked practice sessions back at your club with bowlers who are not beginners
  • An Assessment Day.

The portfolio will need to be complete prior to your practical day. The first zoom covers all of the information to complete Tasks 1 – 5 in your portfolio. The second zoom covers all of the information to complete Tasks 6-9 in your portfolio. The third zoom is completed after your practical days and covers all of the information needed to plan and deliver a series of coaching sessions.

Your Practical Days are 9am – 5pm and you will be active throughout.

Between your Practical Day and your Assessment Day you will need to complete four linked practice sessions back at your club (more if you wish!).

It is helpful to have a degree of computer skills to help you complete your portfolio, however we can arrange a hard copy* if you wish to complete it this way (*additional fee to cover printing)
